Allah in the name of the most Affectionate the Merciful.

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

1. He frowned and turned his face.

1. عَبَسَ وَ تَوَلّٰۤىۙ۝۱

2. Because the blind man came to him.

2. اَنْ جَآءَهُ الْاَعْمٰىؕ۝۲

3. And what you know, haply he might be cleansed;

3. وَ مَا یُدْرِیْكَ لَعَلَّهٗ یَزَّكّٰۤىۙ۝۳

4. Or be admonished, so that the admonition may profit him.

4. اَوْ یَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنْفَعَهُ الذِّكْرٰىؕ۝۴

5. As far him who regards himself self-sufficient;

5. اَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنٰىۙ۝۵

6. To him you do pay attention.

6. فَاَنْتَ لَهٗ تَصَدّٰىؕ۝۶

7. whereas there is not any blame on you-if he is not cleansed.

7. وَ مَا عَلَیْكَ اَلَّا یَزَّكّٰىؕ۝۷

8. But as to him who came to you running.

8. وَ اَمَّا مَنْ جَآءَكَ یَسْعٰىۙ۝۸

9. And he is fearing.

9. وَ هُوَ یَخْشٰىۙ۝۹

10. Then you become busy with others leaving him.

10. فَاَنْتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهّٰىۚ۝۱۰

11. Not like this, it is an admonition.

11. كَلَّاۤ اِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌۚ۝۱۱

12. So, let him who wished remember it.

12. فَمَنْ شَآءَ ذَكَرَهٗۘ۝۱۲

13. In these sheets that are honoured,

13. فِیْ صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍۙ۝۱۳

14. Exalted, Purified.

14. مَّرْفُوْعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍۭۙ۝۱۴

15. With the hands of scribes.

15. بِاَیْدِیْ سَفَرَةٍۙ۝۱۵

16. Noble. virtuous.

16. كِرَامٍۭ بَرَرَةٍؕ۝۱۶

17. Killed be man, how unthankful he is.

17. قُتِلَ الْاِنْسَانُ مَاۤ اَكْفَرَهٗؕ۝۱۷

18. From what did He create him?

18. مِنْ اَیِّ شَیْءٍ خَلَقَهٗؕ۝۱۸

19. He created him by a drop of water, then proportioned him.

19. مِنْ نُّطْفَةٍ١ؕ خَلَقَهٗ فَقَدَّرَهٗۙ۝۱۹

20. Then He made his way easy for him.

20. ثُمَّ السَّبِیْلَ یَسَّرَهٗۙ۝۲۰

21. Then He gave him death and caused him to be buried.

21. ثُمَّ اَمَاتَهٗ فَاَقْبَرَهٗۙ۝۲۱

22. Then when He pleased, brought him out.

22. ثُمَّ اِذَا شَآءَ اَنْشَرَهٗؕ۝۲۲

23. Nothing, he has not carried out what he was commanded.

23. كَلَّا لَمَّا یَقْضِ مَاۤ اَمَرَهٗؕ۝۲۳

24. Therefore, let man look at his food.

24. فَلْیَنْظُرِ الْاِنْسَانُ اِلٰى طَعَامِهٖۤۙ۝۲۴

25. That We poured down water abundantly.

25. اَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَآءَ صَبًّاۙ۝۲۵

26. Then We cleaved the earth well.

26. ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْاَرْضَ شَقًّاۙ۝۲۶

27. Then We caused to grow therein grain,

27. فَاَنْۢبَتْنَا فِیْهَا حَبًّاۙ۝۲۷

28. And grapes and green fodder.

28. وَّ عِنَبًا وَّ قَضْبًاۙ۝۲۸

29. And the olive and the date palm.

29. وَّ زَیْتُوْنًا وَّ نَخْلًاۙ۝۲۹

30. And thick gardens.

30. وَّ حَدَآىِٕقَ غُلْبًاۙ۝۳۰

31. And fruits and grasses;

31. وَّ فَاكِهَةً وَّ اَبًّاۙ۝۳۱

32. For your benefit and for your cattle.

32. مَّتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَ لِاَنْعَامِكُمْؕ۝۳۲

33. Then when the deafening shout will come,

33. فَاِذَا جَآءَتِ الصَّآخَّةُ٘۝۳۳

34. On that, day man will flee from his brother.

34. یَوْمَ یَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ اَخِیْهِۙ۝۳۴

35. And from his mother and his father.

35. وَ اُمِّهٖ وَ اَبِیْهِۙ۝۳۵

36. And from his wife and his sons,

36. وَ صَاحِبَتِهٖ وَ بَنِیْهِؕ۝۳۶

37. Every one of them on that day has one anxiety that is enough for him.

37. لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ یَوْمَىِٕذٍ شَاْنٌ یُّغْنِیْهِؕ۝۳۷

38. Many faces on that day shall be bright,

38. وُجُوْهٌ یَّوْمَىِٕذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌۙ۝۳۸

39. laughing, rejoicing,

39. ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌۚ۝۳۹

40. And many faces on that day will have dust upon them,

40. وَ وُجُوْهٌ یَّوْمَىِٕذٍ عَلَیْهَا غَبَرَةٌۙ۝۴۰

41. Darkness will be covering them.

41. تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌؕ۝۴۱

42. They are the infidels, the wicked.

42. اُولٰٓىِٕكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ۠۝۴۲
