 | Allah in the name of the most Affectionate the Merciful. | بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ   | 
 
 | 1. He frowned and turned his face. | 1. عَبَسَ وَ تَوَلّٰۤىۙ۱   | 
 
 | 2. Because the blind man came to him. | 2. اَنْ جَآءَهُ الْاَعْمٰىؕ۲   | 
 
 | 3. And what you know, haply he might be cleansed; | 3. وَ مَا یُدْرِیْكَ لَعَلَّهٗ یَزَّكّٰۤىۙ۳   | 
 
 | 4. Or be admonished, so that the admonition may profit him. | 4. اَوْ یَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنْفَعَهُ الذِّكْرٰىؕ۴   | 
 
 | 5. As far him who regards himself self-sufficient; | 5. اَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنٰىۙ۵   | 
 
 | 6. To him you do pay attention. | 6. فَاَنْتَ لَهٗ تَصَدّٰىؕ۶   | 
 
 | 7. whereas there is not any blame on you-if he is not cleansed. | 7. وَ مَا عَلَیْكَ اَلَّا یَزَّكّٰىؕ۷   | 
 
 | 8. But as to him who came to you running. | 8. وَ اَمَّا مَنْ جَآءَكَ یَسْعٰىۙ۸   | 
 
 | 9. And he is fearing. | 9. وَ هُوَ یَخْشٰىۙ۹   | 
 
 | 10. Then you become busy with others leaving him. | 10. فَاَنْتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهّٰىۚ۱۰   | 
 
 | 11. Not like this, it is an admonition. | 11. كَلَّاۤ اِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌۚ۱۱   | 
 
 | 12. So, let him who wished remember it. | 12. فَمَنْ شَآءَ ذَكَرَهٗۘ۱۲   | 
 
 | 13. In these sheets that are honoured, | 13. فِیْ صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍۙ۱۳   | 
 
 | 14. Exalted, Purified. | 14. مَّرْفُوْعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍۭۙ۱۴   | 
 
 | 15. With the hands of scribes. | 15. بِاَیْدِیْ سَفَرَةٍۙ۱۵   | 
 
 | 16. Noble. virtuous. | 16. كِرَامٍۭ بَرَرَةٍؕ۱۶   | 
 
 | 17. Killed be man, how unthankful he is. | 17. قُتِلَ الْاِنْسَانُ مَاۤ اَكْفَرَهٗؕ۱۷   | 
 
 | 18. From what did He create him? | 18. مِنْ اَیِّ شَیْءٍ خَلَقَهٗؕ۱۸   | 
 
 | 19. He created him by a drop of water, then proportioned him. | 19. مِنْ نُّطْفَةٍ١ؕ خَلَقَهٗ فَقَدَّرَهٗۙ۱۹   | 
 
 | 20. Then He made his way easy for him. | 20. ثُمَّ السَّبِیْلَ یَسَّرَهٗۙ۲۰   | 
 
 | 21. Then He gave him death and caused him to be buried. | 21. ثُمَّ اَمَاتَهٗ فَاَقْبَرَهٗۙ۲۱   | 
 
 | 22. Then when He pleased, brought him out. | 22. ثُمَّ اِذَا شَآءَ اَنْشَرَهٗؕ۲۲   | 
 
 | 23. Nothing, he has not carried out what he was commanded. | 23. كَلَّا لَمَّا یَقْضِ مَاۤ اَمَرَهٗؕ۲۳   | 
 
 | 24. Therefore, let man look at his food. | 24. فَلْیَنْظُرِ الْاِنْسَانُ اِلٰى طَعَامِهٖۤۙ۲۴   | 
 
 | 25. That We poured down water abundantly. | 25. اَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَآءَ صَبًّاۙ۲۵   | 
 
 | 26. Then We cleaved the earth well. | 26. ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْاَرْضَ شَقًّاۙ۲۶   | 
 
 | 27. Then We caused to grow therein grain, | 27. فَاَنْۢبَتْنَا فِیْهَا حَبًّاۙ۲۷   | 
 
 | 28. And grapes and green fodder. | 28. وَّ عِنَبًا وَّ قَضْبًاۙ۲۸   | 
 
 | 29. And the olive and the date palm. | 29. وَّ زَیْتُوْنًا وَّ نَخْلًاۙ۲۹   | 
 
 | 30. And thick gardens. | 30. وَّ حَدَآىِٕقَ غُلْبًاۙ۳۰   | 
 
 | 31. And fruits and grasses; | 31. وَّ فَاكِهَةً وَّ اَبًّاۙ۳۱   | 
 
 | 32. For your benefit and for your cattle. | 32. مَّتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَ لِاَنْعَامِكُمْؕ۳۲   | 
 
 | 33. Then when the deafening shout will come, | 33. فَاِذَا جَآءَتِ الصَّآخَّةُ٘۳۳   | 
 
 | 34. On that, day man will flee from his brother. | 34. یَوْمَ یَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ اَخِیْهِۙ۳۴   | 
 
 | 35. And from his mother and his father. | 35. وَ اُمِّهٖ وَ اَبِیْهِۙ۳۵   | 
 
 | 36. And from his wife and his sons, | 36. وَ صَاحِبَتِهٖ وَ بَنِیْهِؕ۳۶   | 
 
 | 37. Every one of them on that day has one anxiety that is enough for him. | 37. لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ یَوْمَىِٕذٍ شَاْنٌ یُّغْنِیْهِؕ۳۷   | 
 
 | 38. Many faces on that day shall be bright, | 38. وُجُوْهٌ یَّوْمَىِٕذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌۙ۳۸   | 
 
 | 39. laughing, rejoicing, | 39. ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌۚ۳۹   | 
 
 | 40. And many faces on that day will have dust upon them, | 40. وَ وُجُوْهٌ یَّوْمَىِٕذٍ عَلَیْهَا غَبَرَةٌۙ۴۰   | 
 
 | 41. Darkness will be covering them. | 41. تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌؕ۴۱   | 
 
 | 42. They are the infidels, the wicked. | 42. اُولٰٓىِٕكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ۠۴۲   |
